Violet à Cerner Pigment

A brownish violet, specially formulated for pen work with a nib pen, to outline and define the details of designs on porcelain. It was inspired by the pigments used by the old European porcelain manufacturers in their decorations.

OVERGLAZE CERAMIC PIGMENT (THIRD FIRING)

This is an overglaze pigment: it is applied to porcelain or ceramics that have already been glazed and fired. It is then fixed with a third firing at 820–850 °C.

HOW TO USE

Mix with an oil-based medium (such as copaiba balsam) or a water-based medium, depending on your technique.

FIRING TEMPERATURE

820–850 °C.

WHY IS THE PRICE DIFFERENT?

This pigment contains especially costly raw materials, including gold. That is why it comes in 5 gram jars and is priced higher than other colours in our range.
